Lick Gelato is a handcrafted artisan Italian gelato business, located on Newcastle's promenade within Northern Ireland. The business is run by a Newcastle local husband and wife. While they have their staple store in Newcastle, Lick Gelato supplies to many businesses around Northern Ireland - Ivanhoe Inn and Hotel (Carryduff), Chalet Spar (Portadown), or Oggies Dessert Bar (Banbridge).
While their products are of a very high quality, Lick Gelato lacks some marketing skills for promoting the business as well the products. When searching online, the business is almost undetectable. With the businesses only online presence being on "Facebook". Additionally, the business relies heavily on second-hand promotion via the businesses they supply to. A good example of this is their personalized display cases, found in all businesses stocking their product. However, with the use of digital marketing being a modern, as well as cost-effective method, this could be somewhere the business is severely lacking.
However, one could say their products speak for themselves. Their ice-cream and gelato is not only locally sourced and handcrafted to a high level of quality, but it also includes all traditional favorite flavors whilst also creating unique and un-heard of flavours. Notable favourites of mine include "Biscoff" or "Jammi Dodger", both seen below. As someone who is not a massive fan of icecream, I would highly recommend trying Lick Gelato as it is a game-changer.
